Blog 1 - Hello World Bio My name is Jay Langford, and I’m in my final year of college, studying Applied Computing with a specialisation in Cloud Computing. I’m new to the world of IoT with no previous experience, but I’m excited to learn about how connected devices can be used to solve problems and improve everyday life.   Bio: My name is Shane and I am 20. I am studying Applied Computing, Internet of Things. One of the main areas of computer science that I am interested in is human computer interactions & how people can interface with computers beyond visual, gesture and touch controls. I chose to study Internet of Things because I enjoy building things and this course allows me to be creative and independent in what project I wanted to pursue. For my final year project, I am working on "Technology & The Body: An inexpensive, non-invasive prosthetic arm alternative". I am investigating if it is possible to make an inexpensive prototype prosthetic using mostly environmentally friendly materials such as PLA which is a bio-degradable plastic and easy to source materials so that the project will be more easily reproduced. As part of this project, I am investigating the MyoWare 2.0 sEMG sensor which measure muscle stimulation, this sensor will allow me to control the prototype my fl...
